Noelle Hamlyn uses textiles and craft-practices to explore embodied memory and human experience. She has worked with clothing and found objects, spinning wheels, sewing and hand tools, vintage life jackets, books, beeswax and rocks; using processes such as netting, tailoring, embroidery, salting, weaving, spinning, lacemaking, and dyeing. Revealing abstract and poetic ideas through technical and labour-intensive processes, she is inspired by my embodied knowledge and the meditation of my hands as they repeat tasks.
